Ron Sanchez out as UVA basketball mentor

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Ron Sanchez, UVA basketball’s interim head mentor, is out as This system’s complete-time leader.

In line with a UVA Athletics news launch, Athletics Director Carla Williams introduced the choice Wednesday, March 12.

“I am grateful to Coach Sanchez for accepting this purpose during this kind of significant time for the program,” Williams claimed, according to the news launch. “Ron along with the staff furnished good security, steerage and guidance with the youthful Adult males on the workforce and we are thankful for his determination to UVA as well as the values that are foundational to Virginia Gentlemen’s basketball.”

Sanchez was tops named Virginia’s interim head coach in October when Tony Bennett remarkably retired a few weeks before the season begun.

Virginia concluded this year that has a document of 15-17.

Sanchez continues to be a Element of UVA’s basketball system for 11 seasons, ten being an assistant to Bennett.
